I just finished deployment and configuration of a Enterprise Private Cloud - Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016 alongwith WAP...its been a rocky ride!!! Registered a couple of bugs with MSFT already...
473 and 475 are on my radar but now I am exhausted. 8 months of continous study to pass 7 papers get MCSD Azure, MCSA o365 and hopefully MCSE private cloud. Will take a nice little break after 247.

I work in an IT firm and it is pretty common for us to face issues with laptops. We have a service desk that solves our issues when a ticket is raised. One day I was facing some issue with Outlook and I raised a ticket to get it resolved. I got a call from Service desk lady after some time and it went this way:
Lady: Hi I'm calling from service desk, what is the problem?
Me: (I explained the problem).
Lady: Can you please share your screen and give me the control so that I can solve the issue?
Me: (I shared the screen and gave the control. She solved it!!)
Lady: You may close the ticket from your end, the issue is solved.
Me: Thank you very much, I will close the ticket.
I opened her profile in lync (it is business version of skype, where you can chat and view the profiles of your company mates etc.) and had a look at her profile. The display pic looked small in size. I instantly messaged her Employee ID to my colleague(my college mate) and asked him to have a look at her. He replied "She looks good in some angles".
I tried searching her FB profile with the help of her name, but there were too many results.
I started searching on linked in instead, I found her profile this time. I was trying to enlarge the profile pic and suddenly a message popped up - it says
" You may please stop sharing your screen!!..

You are not bugging! Your feedback is welcome! I'll incorporate your feedback and avoid using acronym and will tweak the workflow. I want to keep it under 5-7 minutes so will have to see how can I squeeze in that. It has to be short, compressed and to the point. Can't compete with Training companies.

Finally got it working! 2 Problems 1. The virtual machine image for SQL Server Express edition does not automatically enable the TCP/IP protocol. For Express edition, I used SQL Server Configuration Manager to manually enable the TCP/IP protocol after creating the VM. 2. The connection string was wrong and it had to be re-written in following format.

Register DNS record for Skype, Exchange, Intune. b. Create user and assign o365 license for Exchange, Skype, team. Just thinking of old days where you had to setup Exchange server, lync server on prem. O365 SaaS is so easy to consume!

External Access and Federation
Collaboration is a core element of how we work which requires the creation of extended teams on a project or long term engagement. Whilst the majority of our teams are internal staff, there is still a critical element of any project that requires the inclusion of our clients and/or external vendors. It is imperative that Microsoft Teams allows for the easy (but secure) inclusion of external parties for the length of any project or engagement. This is why historically products like Groups etc. have not been adopted as widely as we would hope. If the tool only allows for 60-70% of a team to participate, it breaks. If a tool does not allow 100% of those who need to be involved to participate equally, if breaks and our users and clients have far too many alternative solutions that they can easily adopt (Slack etc.) to quickly and efficiently do their jobs. Finally, making external parties sign up for a Microsoft account (such as Hotmail) to authenticate against any collaboration service does not work, and better approach is required and needed.

Start and stop Azure VMs without access to Microsoft Azure - Daniel's Tech Blog
Imagine you want to provide specific users with the ability to start and stop VMs, but you do not want to provide access for them to the Azure portal. Then you can use Azure Automation with webhooks. First create an Azure Automation account in the region of your choice. Make sure that the option “Create Azure Run As account” is enabled. After the successful creation of the Automation account, go to the specific VMs the user will use and add tags to them. For example use a tag to specify the owner of the VM, so you can use it later in the runbook. Now create the scripts for the VM start and the VM stop actions. Start VM Stop VM Next step is to upload the scripts into the Automation account to create the runbooks. Publish them and create a webhook for each of them. Set an appropriate expiration date and make sure you have copied the webhook URL. You will not have access to the URL after you hit OK. Otherwise you can create a new one. Before you test the webhook call, you have to import the AzureRM.Tags module through the gallery. But you are not finished. You also have to update the modules AzureRM.Profile, AzureRM.Resources and AzureRM.Compute. So they have the same version as the newly imported module AzureRM.Tags. If you do not do that, your runbooks will not run. Finally you can create the PowerShell scripts for the user to call the webhooks with them. Start VM Stop VM Important is the option -Method with the value Post, because Azure Automation webhooks can only be called with the Post method. Now run the PowerShell script for the VM start to call the webhook. You are now ready to provide the PowerShell scripts for the webhook calling to the user and the user does not need any access to the Azure subscription.

Yes you are right this option is really gr8, even this option also provided in ASR during failover you can select your license type . But i had a conversation with MS engineer who told me that please go with hub-image not to select normal image and select hub license because this feature in preview and not much effective l so I asked this question here. Collaboration is a core element of how we work which requires the creation of extended teams on a project or long term engagement. Whilst the majority of our teams are internal staff, there is still a critical element of any project that requires the inclusion of our clients and/or external vendors. It is imperative that Microsoft Teams allows for the easy (but secure) inclusion of external parties for the length of any project or engagement. This is why historically products like Groups etc. have not been adopted as widely as we would hope. If the tool only allows for 60-70% of a team to participate, it breaks. If a tool does not allow 100% of those who need to be involved to participate equally, if breaks and our users and clients have far too many alternative solutions that they can easily adopt (Slack etc.) to quickly and efficiently do their jobs. Finally, making external parties sign up for a Microsoft account (such as Hotmail) to authenticate against any collaboration service does not work, and better approach is required and needed.

The two tools really work together with SQL 2016, SSRS reports in Power BI Service, Desktop files as backend for SSRS reports - so in short it doesnt look like SSRS is going to hit EOL yet...the old guard still stands...

Niraj, you remember we discussed that good practice is to disable public IP of SQL VM"s.
In my scenario we have multiple environments, some in ARM and some still running in ASM(because of some specific reason). There is no challenges in ARM model to disable public IP. But in ASM actual IP address assigned to cloud service that is default one and we can't remove default IP as deletVIP is not supported on default VirtualIP.
So in this case we can only prevent possible incoming SQL brute force attempts by using ACL or NSG.?? Or any other solution?
I got approval from management to disable public IP of SQL VM's.

Yes, that's a limitation in ASM portal. Honestly speaking didn't think about ASM when I gave you that solution.
